In order to use this invitation to open portals to The Maven's Crucible, the player must kill the following Shaper Guardians when the Maven is witnessing the fight:

Guardian of the Hydra in Lair of the Hydra Map
Guardian of the Minotaur in Maze of the Minotaur Map
Guardian of the Phoenix in Forge of the Phoenix Map
Guardian of the Chimera in Pit of the Chimera Map

The fight in the Maven's Crucible, is fighting all 4 Shaper Guardians at the same time.
