EAFC25 Leak: Paid Season Pass Possibly Launching with TOTS

2025.04.23

EA Sports FC 25 has been building up toward its biggest annual event, Team of the Season (TOTS), and it looks like a major new feature might be launching alongside it: a paid Season Pass in FC 25 Ultimate Team. While the current pass has been entirely free up to now, new leaks suggest that’s about to change.

Paid Season Pass Could Be Coming with Season 7

According to well-known leakers Fut Sheriff and Asy Fut Trader, EA is preparing to roll out a paid version of the pass on April 24, just one day before the TOTS promo officially starts. The timing makes sense: EA typically rolls out bigger changes when hype is at its peak, and TOTS is easily one of the most played and watched events of the year.

Fut Sheriff has been pretty reliable throughout FC 25, and while no leak is ever 100% confirmed until EA says something, their past info has usually turned out to be accurate.

What Will the Paid Pass Include?

Right now, no one knows for sure. EA hasn’t revealed anything about what’s in the pass, how long it will run, or how much content will be exclusive to paying players. Most players expect that it’ll feature new Evolutions, possibly stronger or more flexible ones than what’s available for free, but that’s just speculation at this point.

One interesting detail in the leak is that you may be able to buy the paid pass using in-game FC 25 Coins, not just real money. That would be a major shift compared to what games like NBA 2K25 are doing. In 2K, the cheapest pass is $9.99, and the more premium version is $19.99. If FC 25 offers an option to pay with earned currency, that would soften the blow for long-time grinders who’ve saved up.

Still, we don’t yet know how many EA FC 25 Coins it would cost or if there are limitations, like only being able to purchase with Coins once per season. For now, it’s all unconfirmed.

Why Now?

It’s not unusual for EA to test out new ideas near the end of a game cycle. With FC 25 winding down before FC 26 takes the spotlight later this year, it makes sense they’d experiment with a monetized pass. TOTS brings millions of players back to the game, and EA knows that players are more willing to spend at this stage, especially if it means access to stronger cards or a boost in progression.

Season 7 is also a clean slate, giving EA the perfect excuse to drop new pass mechanics without disrupting anything already in progress.

TOTS Launch Schedule & Warm-Up Info

If you’re mainly here for the TOTS grind, there’s plenty to look forward to. The first week (starting April 25) will include squads from Ligue 1, Arkema Premier League (Women’s Ligue 1), and Eredivisie.

More leagues will follow in the coming weeks, including the Premier League, Bundesliga, La Liga, and Serie A. Players will be able to vote for some of the upcoming squads, although EA isn’t allowing votes for Ligue 1 this year.

While we wait, EA is running a TOTS Warm-Up campaign, so it’s worth logging in now. There are objectives, SBCs, and login bonuses that reward packs—ideal for stacking up rewards to open during TOTS. It could also help you earn the Coins you might need to unlock the Season Pass if the leak is correct.

Final Thoughts

If the paid Season Pass does drop on April 24, it’ll mark a big shift in how FC 25 Ultimate Team works. Depending on how much content is paywalled, it could split the player base or just offer an extra bonus for those who want more rewards.

For now, all we can do is wait and see. Keep grinding the Warm-Up, save your packs, and keep an eye on the official EA channels for confirmation. TOTS is nearly here, and if the leaks are true, it's not coming alone.
