On your journey of the fresh PoE league through Wraeclast you will find monoliths, and when you touch them you will see a frozen war of two Legions. You have only few seconds to decide how many of the armies you want to unfreeze by damaging them. Each of the five Legions have different rewards upon defeating them. They also drop splinters like in the Breach league.
A pack of 50 is combined to an Emblem which can be used in the map device (even all 5 types of emblems at once) to the Domain of Timeless Conflict where you can enter an even more challenging and rewarding battle between the Legions.
There is a new loot type called Incubators, you can apply them to any gear. Upon activating it, guarantees a certain type of item drop.

-New skillgems
-Special unique Jewels that modify the skill tree in a radius
