What is Path of Exile 2?

Path of Exile 2 is the sequel of one of the most successful ARPGs, Path of Exile 1. The game has already been officially announced, however there is no clear date of release known as of yet. POE2 is a top down action role-playing game with a selection of 12 classes and 36 ascendancy classes, which means you can specialize your original character to another playstyle or school of magic. While the selection of classes is already vast, there is another twist when it comes to skills. The game uses gem system instead of the classic direct skill tree, which means you can place gems to your skill sockets and by that, you will unlock those skills. These skills can be further empowered by using support gems. This provides the ability to experiement with a huge variation of skills and their supports.

What is new in POE 2?

There is also a passive skill three with over 2000 skills and also the option of dual specialization. The game now features both WASD and dodge-roll movement mechanic, making the fights easier and less intimidating. In Path of Exile 2, Spirit will be used as resource and when it comes to having auras, a portion of this spirit will be reserved. Boss mechanics also see a rework and there is now a stacking debuff mechanic which means you can now stun, freeze and slow bosses once you have those effects built up, giving your a short time frame to unload your damage without any distractions.
Once you complete the six acts long storyline, you will gain access to maps which is the core of Path of Exile 2's end game. You can modify these maps by using your Path of Exile currency that you have previously looted to further increase or decrease the challenge level of the map you are about to go into. It is essential to find a good balance between the difficulty and the loot you are expecting as easier maps doesn't provide as much loot. Many past leagues will make a return during these maps, such as Ritual, Delirium or Breach.
Flasks will also see a rework in Path of Exile 2. To gain their bonuses, you no longer have to preemptively use flasks, you rather have to react to certain conditions such as removing freeze or posion effects. Recharge for Flasks has also changes, now you can only gain charges from blue and rare enemies.

Be ready for the release

There will be a cross progression system between POE 1 and 2 and you will be able to carry over your previous microtransactions and cosmetincs from POE 1.
