When it comes to the ladder reset, cost-efficiency is crucial. If you’re new to the Smiter builds or simply looking for an affordable way to take down Ubers and stack Hellfire Torches, this guide is here to help. With a setup costing only 2–3 Ist runes, it’s perfect for players starting fresh in the early ladder season. Let’s dive in!

Strategy for Uber Tristram
Preparation
Stock up on Full Rejuvenation Potions—fill your entire belt.
Prebuff Fade (if using Treachery) by standing in fire at River of Flame until it activates, than switch back to smoke.
Open the portals to Uber Tristram in separate areas of the map to avoid overlapping spawns.
Taking on Ubers
Lure and Isolate Mephisto First
He’s the most dangerous due to his Conviction Aura. Use a Lifetap wand on him, then switch to Black Flail and Smite him down.
Focus on Diablo Next
Use the same Lifetap-Smite strategy. Watch for his fire attacks and keep an eye on your health.
Finish with Baal
His clones can be annoying, but with Lifetap and Crushing Blow make short work of him.
After the Fight
Use Charge to maneuver around leftover mobs and grab the Hellfire Torch. If there’s too much clutter, lure enemies away before picking it up.
You don’t need expensive gear to dominate Ubers. With a little preparation and practice, you’ll crush Uber bosses, collect Hellfire Torches, and turn those drops into high runes or high-end gear even right after Ladder resets.
