Better Loot Has Arrived in Path of Exile: Keepers of the Flame

2025.11.13

Grinding Gear Games is adjusting Path of Exile's newest league, Keepers of the Flame, after many players said the loot wasn't rich enough. The team has rolled out changes to make monster drops more rewarding and valuable overall.

Loot is everything in Path of Exile. This way you can obtain several Path of Exile currency such as Exalted Orb, Divine Orb, Chaos Orb and of course popular Path of Exile Unique items. It's how you get stronger, how you craft, how you trade, and what keeps you running maps for hours. When drops are rich and worthy, every monster you kill feels worth it. That's why so many players noticed right away that the endgame loot in Keepers was lighter than usual.

The biggest fixes targeted POE Breach content first. Breach monsters now drop more loot and Path of Exile currency, making it worth the time and risk to clear them. Hive encounters were improved as well. Ranged monsters now stay closer to Ailith, her skill use is more frequent, and her short invulnerability was adjusted. On top of that, more Foulborn unique PoE items are being added, giving players more things to chase and trade for.

Several underperforming Atlas mechanics also received buffs. The idea is to make different farming styles feel more balanced, so players can choose the strategies they enjoy instead of only running what's “meta.”

Bigger updates to Breach will come later, probably next league, but even these smaller changes made a real difference for now. GGG usually uses the first few weeks of a league to fine-tune drop rates and balance, so it's great to see them responding this quickly.

Early on, the Genesis Tree and Graft systems made leveling smooth, and drops were fine for casual players. The problem showed up once top players hit endgame. Streamers and veteran farmers noticed fewer big rewards and said drops seemed cut compared to the last league. Some even estimated loot was down by half or more.

GGG stepped in quickly to make adjustments, and that's what matters most. They understand that good loot keeps the game alive. Finding a powerful PoE item, even a single rare upgrade, can change your build's strength.

With the new update, Breaches have richer drops, Hives have become less clunky, and farming has become satisfying again. More loot means more upgrades, more crafting, and more fun for everyone still pushing through the Abyss. The update won't flood the game with drops or collapse the ecosystem; it simply fixes what really needed attention.

GGG is clearly paying attention, as always. Keepers of the Flame is full of good ideas, new systems, and fun content. Since the loot system has been properly fixed, there's little left to criticize about the new PoE league.
