World of Warcraft Classic: Mists of Pandaria's Dungeons Overview

2025.07.19

With Mists of Pandaria Classic officially launching on July 21, Blizzard is gearing up players with a detailed look at the dungeon lineup waiting in Pandaria. Returning for nostalgia or stepping into these dungeons for the first time, players will find plenty to explore, from boss mechanics to rewards, achievements, and level requirements.

For players looking to gear up or chase achievements, this next phase of Classic offers a good balance between lighthearted chaos (looking at you, Stormstout Brewery) and the kind of structured dungeon challenges WoW veterans expect. Here's a breakdown of what to expect.

The Dungeons

Temple of the Jade Serpent

  • Location: The Jade Forest
  • Level: 85-90
  • Recommended iLvl: 325

Set within corrupted sacred grounds, this dungeon is focused on cleansing the temple of the Sha's corruption. You will face four bosses, culminating in a showdown with the Sha of Doubt itself. Players can also earn achievements tied to specific mechanics, such as dodging water attacks from Wise Mari or stacking Seeds of Doubt.

Stormstout Brewery

  • Location: Valley of the Four Winds
  • Level: 85-90
  • Recommended iLvl: 325

This is Pandaria's most chaotic dungeon. Mischievous hozen, virmen, and possessed ale elementals have overrun the Stormstout family brewery. You'll help Chen Stormstout clean up the mess. Expect humor, barrels, and some wild boss mechanics involving vermin and booze. You can earn achievements by rolling barrels into Ook-Ook and collecting hidden hoplings to unlock a pet.

Mogu'shan Palace

  • Location: Vale of Eternal Blossoms
  • Level: 87-90
  • Recommended iLvl: 366

A grand seat of ancient mogu power, now contested by rival factions. This dungeon leans into mogu lore and politics, with three bosses, including Xin the Weaponmaster. Achievements require some speed and awareness, like turning Xin's own defenses against him.

Shado-Pan Monastery

  • Location: Kun-Lai Summit
  • Level: 87-90
  • Recommended iLvl: 366

One of Pandaria's most serious dungeons, this one has players working to cleanse the Shado-Pan stronghold from the influence of the Sha. Four bosses await, culminating in a showdown with Taran Zhu. Expect hard challenges, but precise achievements.

Gate of the Setting Sun

  • Location: Vale of Eternal Blossoms
  • Level: 88-90
  • Recommended iLvl: 393

This dungeon centers on stopping the mantid invasion at the Serpent's Spine. The battles take place in a siege-like atmosphere filled with waves of insects and their war machines. Four bosses challenge players, with achievements tied to speed, stacking effects, and letting ads survive.

Siege of Niuzao Temple

  • Location: Townlong Steppes
  • Level: 88-90
  • Recommended iLvl: 393

Another mantid-heavy dungeon, Siege of Niuzao Temple sees you defending one of Pandaria's most sacred locations. You will face mantid commanders, aerial assaults, and achievements tied to mechanics like collecting stacks or keeping NPCs alive.

Heroic Dungeon Highlights

Heroic dungeons are back with higher rewards:
Required iLvl: 440
Loot: 463 item level standard, 476 from final bosses

Heroics Include:
Scarlet Halls (Tirisfal Glades)
Scarlet Monastery (Tirisfal Glades)
Scholomance (Western Plaguelands)

These revamped classics bring fast-paced fights, undead enemies, and some fan-favorite bosses like High Inquisitor Whitemane and Darkmaster Gandling.

Final Thoughts
If you're new to Pandaria or just returning after years away, this dungeon lineup offers a solid mix of humor, lore, and challenge. Each dungeon reflects Pandaria's tone: from serious Sha corruption to the slapstick chaos of drunken hozen. For completionists, achievements across these dungeons will keep you busy, while the loot gives a clear upgrade path toward raiding.
Blizzard is also pushing for players to engage early. Running dungeons by July 30 can earn you a unique wind serpent mount for retail WoW, giving both Classic and modern players something to chase.

If you love Pandaria for the nostalgia, don't hesitate to start your adventure. If you haven't tried it yet, that's another reason to explore the world of Azeroth. The choice is yours, but don't wait too long; July 21 is just around the corner!
