In this year’s installment of FIFA 26 Ultimate Team, EA Sports have brought in several card types that continue to shape the mode year after year. In this article, we are going to go over the core types of cards that you can expect to see in Ultimate Team.

For starters, every player has a default card that is either bronze, silver, or gold depending on the rating. Bronze cards have a rating that is 64 or less, silver cards have a rating that is between 65–74, and gold cards are rated 75 or higher. There are rare and non-rare cards for each card type and rare cards are the bright, shiny cards.

Next there are Team of the Week (TOTW) cards. A new Team of the Week is announced every Wednesday, and the players who make the TOTW are those who had a great performance the previous weekend. TOTW players receive a special black inform card with boosted stats compared to their regular version. The two ways you can get a TOTW card are: 1) by opening packs while the current TOTW is available, or 2) by purchasing the TOTW card from the Ultimate Team marketplace.

Special cards that have been in Ultimate Team for many years are the Team of the Year cards (TOTY). TOTY cards are typically dark blue and are awarded to the 11 players who made EA Sports’ Team of the Year.

Another special card type are Squad Building Challenge (SBC) cards. To obtain these cards, you must complete squad building challenges that meet EA’s requirements, and once you complete them you are rewarded with the SBC card.

Another unique card type in Ultimate Team are Man of the Match (MOTM) cards.

Finally, there are Team of the Season (TOTS) cards. All of the major leagues in Europe, such as the Premier League, Serie A, and the Bundesliga, receive TOTS squads.

All in all, these are the core special cards currently available in Ultimate Team, and you can expect EA Sports to continue adding new promotions and unique card types throughout the season.
