Toni Kroos is officially joining the Icon roster in FIFA 26, and fans of the German midfield maestro will finally be able to slot him into their FIFA 26 Ultimate Team squads. The news dropped via a short video on Real Madrid's social media, with FIFA confirming Kroos as one of the headline Icons for the new season.

The first version of his Icon card will come as a bonus for anyone who pre-orders the Ultimate Edition before 26 August. It's not the only surprise either, as Zlatan Ibrahimović is also getting an FIFA 26 Icon card, and both are expected to have stronger versions released later in the game's cycle. So, while the early edition will be nice for collectors and fans, the really powerful cards are probably still to come.

Kroos has had a career most players can only dream about. He came through at Bayern Munich, where he won the Bundesliga and Champions League before moving to Real Madrid. In Spain, he became a central part of one of the most dominant midfields in modern football, winning LaLiga titles and multiple Champions Leagues. On top of that, he helped Germany lift the 2014 World Cup, controlling games with his trademark calmness and pinpoint passing.

Across more than 15 years at the top, Kroos picked up a ridiculous number of trophies. Champions League, Club World Cup, LaLiga, Bundesliga—he's won them all. He built his reputation not on flashy tricks or blistering pace, but on intelligence, vision, and a passing range that could split any defense. That kind of style could make his FIFA 26 Icon Card a perfect fit for players who like to dominate possession and patiently carve out chances rather than rushing forward.

FIFA 26's Icon list is shaping up to be one of the strongest yet. Alongside Kroos and Zlatan, there's a strong English presence with Frank Lampard, Steven Gerrard, and Paul Scholes also getting FIFA 26 Cards. Each brings their own style, so there's a lot of potential for building squads that reflect real-life football philosophies.

Pre-ordering the Ultimate Edition not only gets you Kroos early but also a bunch of other in-game rewards to give you a head start in FIFA 26 Ultimate Team.
