All You Have to Know about PoE 2’s Dawn of the Hunt Update Twitch Event

2025.03.29

The hype is growing around Path of Exile 2 players as Grinding Gear Games prepares to unveil major details about the game’s upcoming content as a Twitch.tv stream. The event is set for March 27 at 12 PM PDT, where the developers will reveal the content in the new Dawn of the Hunt update. This will be the first major patch since the Early Access launch and is expected to bring a number of important changes and additions to the game.

The livestream will be hosted on the official Path of Exile Twitch channel, where developers will walk viewers through what’s been in development. With the 0.2.0 update set for release on April 4, the event will serve as the first full look at what players can expect from the patch. Fans are already making assumptions about potential new features, enhancements and the release of the eagerly anticipated Druid class.

Dawn of the Hunt is expected to introduce several gameplay improvements, new content for endgame systems, additional unique items, and updates to class specializations. The core the patch is the Lost Towers feature,  which allows tower-related content to appear more naturally on PoE 2 maps. New scendancy classes are also expected, along with two fresh unique PoE items that designed to shake up builds and playstyles.

Players who tune in to the livestream, a limited-time Twitch Drop will be available. By watching for a total of two hours on any Path of Exile 2 stream with drops enabled, players can unlock the Executioner’s Guillotine Unique Finisher Effect. This cosmetic reward will be free to anyone who connects their Path of Exile account to Twitch and meets the two-hour watch time requirement between noon PDT and 10 PM PDT. The effect, which adds a dramatic final blow animation to combat, is expected to become available in the in-game shop at a later time. However, fans who want early access can secure it simply by watching on Thursday.

The update also highlights the shift in development focus for the team at Grinding Gear Games. Work on Path of Exile 2 has taken priority, which has delayed content for the original Path of Exile. The studio has been transparent about the challenge of balancing both games and has moved several resources to ensure the sequel receives the attention it needs. With Early Access still ongoing, community feedback continues to shape the game’s development, and Dawn of the Hunt is expected to reflect that.

There is more to the 0.2.0 patch than just another Early Access cycle step. It is the first real extension of the main systems in Path of Exile 2. The scope of the update has already been alluded to through official posts and teasers, but many details will not be revealed until the livestream.
Exiles who have been following PoE 2 closely, March 27 will be a big day. The broadcast promises a detailed preview of new features, live developer commentary, and the chance to engage directly with what’s coming in the following updates. The major class updates, gameplay improvements, and Twitch-exclusive rewards on the way, Dawn of the Hunt could bring an even bigger hype around Path of Exile 2.
