PoE 2’s Next Patch Brings Two Really Welcome Changes

2025.04.30

After a lot of back-and-forth with recent changes in Path of Exile 2, the devs are already lining up some nice improvements for the next patch. In a post on Steam, Grinding Gear Games gave a small preview of what’s coming in patch 0.2.0g, and it looks like it’ll mainly focus on two things players have been asking for.

Better Loot from Bosses and Wisps

First up: loot. A lot of players have been running into bosses that just don’t drop anything exciting. You do the hard work, beat a big enemy, and then get a bunch of junk. That’s getting tweaked. Bosses will now have a higher minimum quality on their drops, so even your bad luck runs shouldn’t feel quite as bad.

Also, monsters that are possessed by Azmerian wisps are getting a bump in their loot quality too. So if you’ve been chasing wisp monsters and feeling like it’s not really worth the effort, that might change soon.

Corrupted Nexuses Will Be Easier to Find

The other big change is about corrupted nexuses. These areas are part of the endgame and have some unique enemies and loot, but players often move through waystone tiers faster than they can actually find and complete nexuses. That’s being addressed.

GGG is making them show up more often, and you’ll need fewer of them to unlock all the atlas passive points. So the pacing should feel a lot smoother without needing to go out of your way to track them down constantly.

When’s It Coming?

The devs didn’t give an exact date because of the Easter break and the public holiday. But they said they’re working on getting the patch out as soon as they can.

Closing word

New content and quality updates are always welcome, especially when they deliver. Better loot and more accessible content? Hard to complain about that.
We’ll probably hear more once they lock in the rest of the patch notes. Until then, time to keep farming and maybe stock up on more waystones!
