When Could Path of Exile 2 Fully Launch?

2025.05.19

Path of Exile 2 has been in early access since December 2024, and players are already spending hours in the new world. It started out as a big expansion, but now it stands on its own as a full sequel, with new classes, a different campaign, and updated systems. Even though it’s still in early access, there’s already a lot to explore. But there is one concern among fans: when will the full game be released?

So far, there’s no confirmed release date. Grinding Gear Games hasn’t said exactly when the game will hit version 1.0, but looking at the past can give us an idea. The first Path of Exile spent about ten months in early access before launch. If the sequel followed that timeline, a full release would land around mid-2025. But since that’s coming up soon and there’s no official news, it’s likely the wait will be a bit longer.

The early access version already includes three acts of the story and a good amount of endgame content. You can put together full PoE 2 Builds, experiment with skills, and spend plenty of time grinding through Path of Exie 2 Maps. It doesn’t feel like a small demo, more like a solid base for what’s still to come. Updates are also expected as more content is added and feedback is taken into account.

What’s promising is that the game already feels fun to play. Classes like the Huntress and the Druid offer new ways to approach combat, and the reworked mechanics give players more control over their builds. The tone and setting still feel like Path of Exile, but everything has a fresh layer of polish.
It’s also clear that the team is taking their time. Grinding Gear Games has always been known for listening to its community, and they’ve shown before that they prefer doing things right over rushing a release. That’s probably what will happen here too.

If everything continues at a steady pace, a late 2025 launch feels like a safe guess. That would give enough time for more acts to be added, balance changes to roll in, and the full story to take shape.
Until then, the early access version gives players more than enough to enjoy. It’s not the final version yet, but it’s already shaping up to be something special. With more content on the way and regular updates, Path of Exile 2 is on a good path, even if we don’t know the exact finish line just yet.
