Path of Exile 2’s second major update, Dawn of the Hunt, just dropped and while it added plenty of new content, it also stirred up some mixed reactions from players. The patch added the Huntress class, five new Ascendancy classes, and made big changes to loot, crafting, and combat mechanics. But not everyone is happy with how things turned out.
A lot of players feel the game has slowed down too much. There are complaints about longer boss fights, reduced loot, and combat that now leans too heavily on combos. Some longtime fans say the changes move the game away from what made the original Path of Exile fun — fast action and full freedom when building your character.
Steam reviews reflect this shift. While the game still has a solid player base, recent feedback has been more mixed, with many saying the update didn’t hit the right balance between challenge and reward.
Grinding Gear Games has been quick to respond. After rolling out an earlier wave of fixes, they followed up with patch 0.2.0e. The update includes changes to monster behavior, balance tweaks to bosses, performance fixes, and more quality-of-life updates aimed at addressing player concerns.
The studio also mentioned more changes are coming soon. Below is a breakdown of what’s already been updated and what’s still in the works.
