First steps to your Ultimate Team - part II

2023.09.23

Starting FIFA will be a huge task for some. In the first part we covered the basics. From preparing for the task ahead to playing the game itself, so if you're unsure about the best way to start in FUT, reading that blog will be the best place to start. However, in this post, we'll be taking a further look at the tips and tricks that you may have not even known about.

Customise your club

Hire staff

A lot of people usually disregard this option when starting in ultimate team. However, hiring staff is one of the most underrated areas of ultimate team as this unlocks so much more potential to your new FIFA squad. Certain staff have certain roles in your squad, for example, some staff actually give your players more stamina, whilst others perform other duties.

One aspect that should never be avoided, is to hire a manager. Managers are the most important staff in all of ultimate team and it's easy to understand why. They can be the solution to a number of problems, including team chemistry and contracts.

In terms of chemistry, depending on the league and/or nationality of a manager, if they are included in your squad, your team chemistry will improve overall. In some instances, you can actually receive a +1 in chemistry for certain players who match your managers nationality and/or league.

In regards to contracts, Most of the gold managers contribute a raised percentage on all contracts: the rare gold with 3% and the non-rare with 1%. The silver rare manager also contribute with 2%. You can hire managers so that the sum of your percentages equals 50%. This means that when applying a contract card to a player the number of games on the card will be added 50%. This can be very beneficial when you're trying to make every single coin count in FIFA ultimate team and should not be ignored under any circumstance.

Buy contracts

Without contract cards, you'll be left helpless in FIFA. When a player runs out of contracts, you must redeem their contract status at the earliest convenience. Should you plan to ignore this, you won't be able to use that player unless you redeem their contracts.

If a player is tired or injured, you can place them on the bench until they recover. However, with contracts, this is not the case and these are the only “must purchase” consumables in the whole of ultimate team.

With the 50% bonus the managers offer you and with cheap contracts, you won't ever need to think if the game prize is enough to cover your costs.
