Act 4 in Path of Exile 2 is where the difficulty really spikes. Even experienced veterans are put to the test. The Karui Archipelago introduces tougher bosses, tighter arenas, and longer quest chains. If you just want to get through the main story without wandering in circles, here's how the act plays out.
Starting Out in Kingsmarch
When you load into the act, Doryani is standing right there. Talk to him, then head into Kingsmarch. Alva is waiting up ahead, already arguing with Rog. After a short chat, Rog sets you up with a ride. That leads you to Captain Makoru on the Aurora May. From now on the ship acts as your hub, letting you pick which island to sail to next.
The Three Main Islands
You'll need to clear three places to gather the weapon fragments.
- Whakapanu Island: There are two fights here. The Great White One drops a quest item, but the real target is Diamora inside the Singing Caverns. Kill Diamora to grab one of the fragments and unlock a hideout.
- The Abandoned Prison: Push through until you find Solitary Confinement. The Prisoner waits inside. Beating him gives another fragment.
- Shrike Island: Cross the bridge to the arena where Scourge of the Skies hovers. Take it down for the third fragment.
Reforging the Weapon
Once you have all three, return to Makoru. Her crew directs you to Arastas Island. Inside the church you meet Lorandis, who asks you to clear barriers and fight through waves of enemies. Keep an eye out for Temple Bells on the way; they drop useful PoE 2 Currency.
The next big fight is Torvian. After him comes a maze-like excavation area. Hug a wall so you don't get lost, and then you'll eventually reach Benedictus. Once he's dead, the Hooded One reforges the fragments into a weapon.
Off to Ngakanu
Back in Kingsmarch, Rhodri the cook tells you how to reach Ngakanu. The layout is another maze, but sticking to one side gets you through. Inside the Heart of the Tribe, check out the Meeting House for bonus loot before pushing on.
At the end you'll meet Tavakai.
The Tavakai Fight
Tavakai has three phases.
- The first phase ends at 50% health.
- The second phase begins as Tavakai the Fallen.
- The third phase begins as Tavakai the Consumed, with full health again.
He throws out big AoE attacks in every stage, so keep rolling and don't stand still for long. The fight takes patience more than anything else.
Wrapping Up
Once Tavakai goes down, head back to Kingsmarch and talk to the Hooded One. That officially closes Act 4 and pushes you into the Interludes. Before moving on, make a trip to the Isle of Kin. Beating the boss there nets two passive skill points, which are worth grabbing before diving deeper into the story.
So that's it. If you follow the steps mentioned above, you can make it to the end of Act IV more easily, but it's important to note that the journey will still be full of challenges. Good luck, Exile!
